Mixxx

A few years ago, music mixing was something that only experienced DJs could peform. That's because the computer applications and devices used to mix music were really difficult to use and required a lot of skill and experience. But over the years, DJ mixing software got easier and easier and now, even the most inexperienced computer users can learn how to mix music in the shortest time possible.

A very good example of application in this case is Mixxx. This intuitively named Windows program allows anyone to mix music just like a professional DJ, using a graphical interface and a lot of controls and features. After the program has been installed and launched, the user first needs to select the folder which contains music files on his hard disk. After doing so, Mixxx will automatically import all of them into its library and will allow the user to quickly find a desired song.

After importing the songs, the actual interface of the application will be displayed and the user will only need to drag and drop songs over the two decks presented in the interface. Mixxx will automatically analyze the bpm for each song separately and will allow you to synchronize them together with a single mouse click.

During the playback, the user will be able to add some real-time effects which can make the mix more enchanting and interesting and can also add a personal touch to it. There is also an Auto DJ feature, which can automatically mix two songs together, without the user having to do basically anything. This feature is recommended for first-time users. During a mix, the user can record it as an MP3 audio file or can even broadcast it live over the Internet, allowing anyone to listen to it. All that's required is an audio player which supports the streaming feature.

By accessing the options section of Mixxx, the user will be able to customize every aspect of the program's functionality and also configure external MIDI devices to work with the application, like hardware decks or keyboards.
